VoiceMaker

Quick Start

Get up and running with VoiceMaker in three steps.

1. Get your API key

Sign up at myvoicemaker.ai and generate a key from your developer console: Settings → API Keys → Generate New Key. Copy it somewhere safe — you won't be able to see it again.

Keep keys secret

Treat your API key like a password. Never commit it to version control or expose it in client-side code. See Authentication for best practices.

2. Make your first request

Generate speech from text with a single POST request. Replace the key with your own and pick a voice_id from GET /dev/v1/tts/voices.

cURL
curl -X POST https://api.myvoicemaker.ai/dev/v1/tts/generate \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer vmk_live_a1b2c3d4e5f6_8h9i0jKLmnOPqrSt" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "text": "Welcome to VoiceMaker.",
    "voice_id": "amara-okafor-female-conversational",
    "language": "en"
  }'

The API responds synchronously with a link to the generated audio:

  "voice_id": "amara-okafor-female-conversational",
  "created_at": "2026-03-03T10:30:00Z"
}

3. Listen to the generated audio

Open the audio_url to play it immediately, or download it for later use. The URL points to your generated file in VoiceMaker storage.

cURL
curl -L -o welcome.wav "https://media.myvoicemaker.ai/voice-it-generated/.../tts-api.wav"
